Dive Into Alga PSA V0.15.0 — The Final Prep Edition
For those of you who have been following along with the Alga PSA journey, you may already know that we’re entering our final stretch before our long-awaited, feature-filled 1.0.0 release. Hopefully, you’re as excited as we are as the time draws near! With each of our prior releases, we’ve aimed to add more value, clarity, and accessibility to Alga PSA by addressing common pain points in the MSP community. **Version 0.15.0’s** major focus is on integrating with tooling that is integral to the daily workflow of MSPs. Specifically, we’re excited to introduce Remote Monitoring Management (RMM) to Alga PSA via our integration with ninjaOne.
Integrations Galore
We know that having to navigate endless windows and tabs just to access all the tools you use daily is exhausting. Your workflow should exist within a single pane of glass, and our ninjaOne integration brings Alga PSA users one step closer to that cohesive goal. You can sync devices directly with Alga PSA, laying the foundation for automation in endpoint management, remote monitoring, and patching.
In this release, we’ve also introduced Stripe payments for your clients. With the Stripe integration, MSPs simply set up their Stripe account information in Alga PSA, and their clients can then pay invoices directly from their client portal. This integration blends seamlessly with another feature we’ve introduced in this 0.15.0 release: multi-currency billing options. For MSPs operating internationally, this means you can configure currencies and tax rates globally, ensuring invoice accuracy no matter where you or your clients operate. Faster collections, fewer steps, and a cleaner billing experience.
Project Improvements
V0.15.0 levels up project management within Alga PSA. MSPs can now create templates out of projects, with options for copying over any and every aspect of your projects: phases, columns, tasks, and even assignments. On the other hand, you can choose to copy the bare minimum to your templates if you’d like, keeping each new project with the same structure, while starting with a fresh slate.
Additionally, collaboration and info tracking on projects has been improved, with the new ability to comment directly on project tasks. Task commenting is nearly identical to ticket comments, meaning the tagging feature is fully functional, notifying your teammate(s) instantly regarding any particular project task.
Ensuring Reliability, Accuracy, & Quality
Nobody’s perfect, but when it comes to Alga PSA, we strive to get as close as possible! We love to focus on new additions, but we must not neglect the inevitable development issues and bugs that arise along the way, along with dedicating time to minor improvements that have major impacts. We prioritize our users’ experience, and with every release, we are committed to making the Alga PSA experience as smooth as possible.
With that said, in V0.15.0, some of the issues that are addressed include document filtering issues, enterprise and community build problems, and excessive client portal redirects. We also added some quality-of-life improvements, like the ability to click a ticket row to access it (previously, users had to click specifically on the ticket title). Additionally, users can now easily open said tickets in new tabs. We made a minor addition to our quick create dialog, enabling users to add a service to their service catalog, no matter where they are in the application.
What’s Coming Next
While this release is no doubt exciting, there are even more exciting features that are on the horizon. As we continue on the Alga PSA development journey, users can look forward to the following:
- Editing workflows, templates, and event catalogs with more control and flexibility.
- The Alga PSA home page will be transformed into a dashboard, to help you stay organized and monitor service health at a glance.
- PO numbers, PO limits, and contract auto-renewal abilities are on the way.
- SLA-based due date filtering, as the beginning groundwork for SLA-readiness.
- Rate limiting abilities for outbound emails.
And so much more! As always, thank you to our community of MSPs, early adopters, and contributors. You push us forward, and we can’t wait for you to see what we have in store.
